Kate Thompson

Carrollton, GA - March 6, 2007 - West Georgia senior pitcher Kate Thompson has been the anchor of the Wolves' pitching staff this season. The senior was stellar last week for West Georgia, earning Gulf South Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week honors.

In winning the award, Thompson becomes the first West Georgia squad member to be named Player or Pitcher of the Week since the 2005 season. The last time came on March 29, 2005, when West Georgia received the Player and Pitcher of the Week award.

Thompson was outstanding last week going 3-0 with a 1.83 ERA. She pitched game two of all three series, orchestrating a .500 record for the week.
